BODEGAS CASA CASTILLO
It was in 1985, when the second generation of the family of the traditional Bodegas Casa Castillo (represented by Nemesio and his son José Mª Vicente) started a new project. They began with the restructuring of the vineyard and the introduction of new varieties. In 1991 was taking into account the original structure,The winery reformed and retracted the first crops. Finally, in 1993, the first wine "Casa Castillo Crianza 1991" left the family business.
At the moment, the third generation, led by José Mª Vicente, is continuing the traditional winery. José María Vicente quickly abandoned his architectural studies to devote himself fully to the world of wine. Restless, he traveled through countries such as France, Italy, Germany and Portugal. On these trips, he did not look for the big wineries, but for the small winemakers with traditional, crafted working philosophies and was inspired by their work. This is reflected in the products of Bodegas Casa Castillo.
